How to take care of your
CND™ SHELLAC® Manicure...
Nail Couture by Andrea knows you will absolutely LOVE your nails while you are wearing Shellac, and expect your nails to last flawlessly for at least 14 days, as long as you give them a little care and attention during that time. Shellac is pretty indestructible with normal wear and tear, however, please protect your nails when doing any tough jobs like household cleaning and gardening, hobbies that are rough on your hands or using harsh chemical products without wearing gloves - doing these things without protection can spoil your Shellac service.
If lifting or peeling is noticed please do not pick or pull at the lifted area, as this will cause the lifting to increase and could even damage the natural nail. Please call me on 0407 339 965 so that I can assess the nail and decide if a repair is necessary. Please note that repairs are generally chargeable (unless a technical fault is determined).
If you are on holiday please be careful when using sun tan oils or insect repellent solutions as many of these products contain DEET which will cause major damage to the Shellac colour coat.
Cleaning products and similar stripping chemicals have ingredients that can seriously erode the Shellac bond - so don't do any housework without gloves .
Please use Solar Oil at least once a day. This will help prolong the life of your manicure by keeping your natural nails and cuticles healthy, hydrated and flexible. Shellac is porous, and as such, it allows the specially formulated blend of oils in Solar Oil to penetrate through the nail plate. Solar Oil is available in salon and retails at only $8.00 for a 3.7ml bottle or $15.00 for a large 7.3ml bottle.
Never, never, never use your nails as tools! Your nails are jewels, not tools! Instead, use the proper tools when opening jars or cans when working around the house and never use your nails to peel off labels!
Relative to your life-style and activity level, your Shellac will need fortnightly or three weekly maintenance as there will be obvious re-growth. At this point you can choose to either:
Re-Shellac your nails (remove existing Shellac and applying a fresh new colour) in a Shellac Manicure service.
Remove the Shellac completely which takes a brief 10 minutes.
If you do decide you want to remove your Shellac please call me and let me do this safely for you in the salon. Incorrect removal at home may damage the surface of your nails. I will be able to remove Shellac using a professional remover and to give you a mini-manicure so that your natural nails look perfect.
If you have any questions or queries please call me or email me. Thank you! x ANDREA
